F2F Hits the Road!
Thank you Snell & Wilmer for supporting our organization & providing us with the ability to learn in new environments!
Thanks to a generous grant from Snell & Wilmer, our nonprofit has been able to provide exciting and educational field trips to our families all year. These adventures create lasting memories and opportunities for hands-on learning outside of the classroom. As a nonprofit, grants like these allow us to provide meaningful experiences, but to sustain our daily free programming, we rely on the generosity of donors like you. We’re excited to share a collection of videos from our adventures on the road. Watch as our young learners & their families discover, laugh, and grow together all throughout the Las Vegas valley!
January
This January, we visited the Clark County Museum for our first excursion of the year! We climbed on interesting vehicles, learned about old technology, & played a whole lot of house in the historic buildings!
February
February’s adventure was a ROARing good time! Our first adventure to Lion Habitat Ranch was a hit, & we were lucky to meet Ozzie the giraffe before he passed away. The kids AND parents got to face their fears in a safe, fun way!
March
Discovery Children’s Museum is a field trip classic for a reason! We spent the field trip zooming up and down the structure in the middle, playing all the different games, and using our imaginations. We loved this hands-on learning experience.
April
We spent April at the Wetlands Las Vegas wash, which provides clean water to Nevadan wildlife. We walked to a bridge, did a scavenger hunt and found some baby owls in a cottonwood tree!
May
The UNR Extension Botanic Gardens were stunning in summer! We engaged all 5 senses walking through the garden, where we could pick & taste fresh produce while learning about native plants, gardening, and the critters that work together in nature.
June
We had a royally good time at Kids Empire, where kids and their families can climb around a gigantic, clean, indoor playground during the hot summer months. While we have a playground at the center, it’s nothing like this!
July
Dino exhibits were everywhere this summer! Our pack took the treck to Springs Preserve’s Dinosaur Explorer exhibit. The animatronic dinosaurs caused a bit of fright, but mostly delight in our nest, & the interactive displays provided learning for every level!
August
There’s so much to do in Sunset Park! Instead of going to the area by the lake, we explored a woodland themed play place with a splash pad! We toddled & waddled through the park, making friends, human & goose alike! Thank you to our families for always bringing a good attitude (and some good snacks) on our adventures.
September
We celebrated the start of the school year by returning to Kids Empire, a crowd favorite! Our families climbed their hearts out, faced their fears, & danced the night away. These types of indoor gross motor opportunities are especially important here in Las Vegas, where the heat can be too extreme to spend significant time playing outside.
October
Where else could we go for October other than Gilcease Orchard? While our bus may have been delayed, we packed a lot of punch into our time spent exploring the orchards, eating special treats, & playing with our friends in the beautiful outdoors. Every family received a knucklehead pumpkin on the way out - which we hear taste great roasted! Who would’ve known?!
November
This November, we headed BACK to Springs Preserve for their fall butterfly habitat. This place is so huge - we could come back every trip for a year & still have more to explore! The real hit this time was the train ride, which took us on a scenic trip while teaching us about old Las Vegas.
December
We’re excited to celebrate the holiday season together at Toodley Town with all of our families! Going into the new year, we are grateful for all the new ways to enrich the lives of our young learners, both in and out of the classroom!
