Board of Directors

Lillie Englund

Dr. Englund has been involved in Early Childhood Education since the early 1980’s when her two small girls attended childcare in Houston, Texas, and she taught kindergarten in their childcare center. When her family moved to Las Vegas in the late 1980’s she became director of a center for a national childcare corporation and was employed with them as Director and Regional Director until 1997, when she was developer and co-owner or Imprints Day School in Las Vegas until 2007.

Englund graduated from The University of Vermont with a degree in Education, and from UNLV with both an MA and a PhD in Early Childhood Education, specializing in language modeling for young children. She taught at UNLV and supervised student teachers in the CCSD in Early Childhood Education until her retirement in 2014.

Englund’s professional contribution to Early childhood Education in Nevada includes service as a Board Member for the National Association for the Education of Young Children on the local, state, and National level, where she spoke several times at their national convention in Washington, DC.

She has been a dedicated member of the Board of Directors of Family 2 Family Connection for nearly a decade. She is passionately vocal about the need for adult-child involvement from birth to age 5 as active teachers for children in order for their child’s success in school and in life.
